You know you’re in for a proper event when, an hour before the doors open, a line of some of the hottest people in the valley is already buzzing with excitement—wrapping around the building, nearly spilling into the street. That electric energy, that pulse of anticipation, tells you everything: what’s waiting inside will be just as good as who’s in line outside. That was exactly the scene at the 10th DAP Health & Palm Springs Leather Order of the Desert (PSLOD) “Revivals After Dark” sale.

How it Began
The event began in 2019 as a small way to sell some of the spicier adult goods donated to the local Revivals resale shops, while also creating a bond with the kink community. Now, it has evolved into a must-attend event—a true gateway into the world of leather and fetish.
“This event is so unique in that it allows people to come and experience some of the ‘kink accessories,’ but in a way where they don’t have to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars,” shared David Dunn, President of the PSLOD. “A lot of people are a little scared of the leather community—and even a bit of themselves sometimes. It’s a difficult thing to say, ‘Hey, I think I may be into this stuff…’ So, our club and events are really places where you can come and be safe to meet people, express yourself, and learn to live your truth.”

Picture This
The sale itself was MAJOR. A complete feast for the senses. Picture racks on racks of every kind of leatherwear imaginable—jackets, pants, harnesses, hats, vests, even jumpsuits made their way to the back lot. Come on Knight Rider. As far as the asphalt stretched, tables overflowed with erotic art, books, X-rated magazines, bondage gear, floggers, and enough dildos to outline the perimeter. There were cock cages with so much hardware they had the most experienced BDSM pros head scratching. If you’ve been fantasizing about a fetish piece, chances are it was there—and it went home with you.
But the heart and soul of the event? The vibe and generosity of the attendees. Picture gents trying on harnesses right out in the open and, if it didn’t fit, handing it off to a new friend to try on. It was a perfect display of what the leather community is all about—welcoming others and breaking down barriers. “This event reduces stigma as well,” explained Steven Henke, Marketing Director of DAP Health. “You’ll see people from all walks of life shopping—picking up everything from bondage restraints to nude paintings—with no secrecy and no shame. Just laughter, sharing, and joy in exploration.”

Volunteers were everywhere, making sure everything ran smoothly. PSLOD members were on hand, guiding newbies toward their first leather pants, while the Revivals crew kept the checkout lines moving like they do this on the daily. It wasn’t just a sale—it was the social event of the season, where the friends you met amongst the racks, may become your next partners.
A Unique Way to Fundraise
Beyond the fun and sexy gear, the event raises thousands upon thousands of dollars in just ninety minutes. Remarkable, sure—but not surprising when you bring together a community that knows how to show up and show out for each other. Every penny stays local, with some going to PSLOD to further their mission and the rest directly supporting the people who call the valley home. Even more remarkable is how the relationship between PSLOD and DAP Health has flourished through this event.
Henke elaborated, “Here is the truth: DAP Health hadn’t done enough to engage with the PSLOD. They invited us in, let us be part of the community. Through that, it’s changed how we look at healthcare, how we show up. It’s made us much more emotionally intelligent. Now, we can run things by this group to improve our messaging and depiction of kink, fetish, or leather, and ensure we’re representing it authentically.”

Live Your Truth in Community
We’ll leave the final words to David Dunn: “Everybody has to understand, there’s no one way to do any of this—it’s about you living your truth. There’s no box. No uniform. Not for us at PSLOD. It’s about you, and we are here to support that. Bring people in so they can find themselves within a compassionate community.”
It’s that reminder that community isn’t just about shared interests—it’s about acceptance and growth. Whether it’s finally finding your first pair of leather boots or finally finding your tribe, this sale creates a space for self-discovery and belonging. As the PSLOD motto perfectly puts it: “Community, connectivity, support, and brotherhood—and sisterhood”.
So, obviously, we’ll see you at the next sale, right??
