One of the biggest country music festivals is arriving in the Coachella Valley at the end of this month – Stagecoach. Some of the best in country will be at the event, including Eric Church, Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan. Beginning on April 25th, hundreds of RVs, thousands upon thousands of fans, and a whole lot of fun will be descending on the cities of the Coachella Valley for the three-day festival.
So what do cowboys and cowgirls wear in the desert? Revivals brings you the low down on how get the perfect duds for the event. Follow our advice and you’re sure to look purtier than a new calf in springtime.
Hat. A cowboy hat that is. You cannot go to a country festival without toting one of these bad boys. Show up in your fedora and you just might get the boot. Not only does a cowboy hat set the perfect tone for the beginnings of a country outfit, it’s practical too. The wide brim helps shade your face from the intense desert sun.
Cowboy boots. Rompin’, stompin’, line-dancin’ boots. Another must-have for a country festival. What’s great about cowboy boots is that they look awesome with almost any ensemble. Whether you’re wearing cut-off shorts, pants, a dress, or even a bathing suit, cowboy boots fit the occasion for this event.
Red, white and blue. County music goes hand in hand with patriotism. This year’s fans will be sporting their love for their country with stars and stripes. If you don’t want to go all out and wear an American flag on your shirt, you can still show your country love with this color combination. Blue jeans, a white tank and some red boots will help you bring this look to the event.
Denim. What is it about denim that just screams country? Chances are its roots are anchored in the Wrangler jeans that cowboys are so often associated with. In any case, denim will be a hot commodity at the festival. Denim jeans, cut-off denim shorts, and even denim shirts will be dancing around the fair grounds.
Bathing suit. Although not all together classic country, bathing suits have made their way into Stagecoach’s fashion and look like they’re here to stay. It could be that while the rest of the country is beginning to experience the warmth of spring, Indio’s average weather for the weekend event is a deliciously hot 90 degrees. Ladies, layer your bathing suit with a sheer top and cut-off (denim) shorts. Men, one of the festival days, come rocking in some board shorts. For in the country wisdom of Kenny Chesney, “No shoes, no shirt, no problems”.
