Meet the Bob’s from Revivals electronic/repair department at Revivals Store in Palm Springs. Bob #1, as he likes to be called, joined Revivals volunteer team in 2006 when he retired to Palm Springs. With an extensive background in electronics and a career in TV broadcasting, his manager asked Bob #1 if he was able to create a small facility to test donated electronics like radios, DVD players, VHS players, and TV sets to make sure they are still working before selling them. If the donated electronics devices were no longer usable they would just wipe them out.
“Yes it sounds like a challenge, so I started what has turned into a monstrous operation, we began checking everything that came in and eventually expanded to check the electronics that come from the other two stores in Cathedral City and Palm Desert” explains Bob#1.
Five years later Bob #2 joined Revivals volunteer team. As an electronic engineer, he was happy to join Bob #1 processing all donated electronics, to restore and repair before being sold. Now, they are known as ‘Electronic Bob’s’ of the Revivals Stores. “Remember that while you are getting something nice for yourself you are also doing something good for the environment- great for our community,” says Bob#2.
